12 Days of Google – Day 12: Keyword Cannibalization

     -     Dec 25th, 2017   -     Search Engine Optimization   -     0 Comments

As the holidays approach, FlashPoint Marketing is taking a new perspective on a holiday classic – the Twelve Days of Google. Rather than filling your head with sugar plum fairies, we are going to instead focus on the latest changes to Google and fun Google terms to increase your digital marketing knowledge.

On the last day of Google FlashPoint Marketing told to me – keyword cannibalization.

This is the excessive use of the same keyword on multiple pages across the website. Not only is this outdated thinking but when implemented generously it becomes annoying to the reader to see the term or terms so often. This practices often confuses search engines and they are unable to determine the most relevant term to the content.

Thanks for joining us and Happy Holidays to all.
