Los Angeles SEO Events – December 2019
While there is no shortage of national digital marketing, SEO and content marketing conferences, it’s also useful to attend various local events. Not only does it allow SEO, digital marketers and business owners to expand their network but also sharpen their skills and learn from the local talent. Although the holidays will keep most professionals out of the office and with family, there may be an opportunity to sneak in a quick session.

Search Engine Optimization Classes – 5 Day

Summary: Ready to learn search engine optimization in a small hand’s on class so you can Generate more Traffic, get more clicks and increase revenue. The class teaches attendees how to make their way to the top of search engines like Google and Yahoo. This hands-on course provides the opportunity to learn SEO and leverage the strategies and tactics to move your company’s site up in SERP rankings. Participants have the opportunity to work with their own websites and have the experts giving them step-by-step guidance.
How to Get Traffic to Your Site with SEO

The event will be held at Santa Monica College (Bundy Campus – Room 123) 3171 South Bundy Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90066.
Summary: This event teaches attendees what SEO is all about, why it’s important and how to get started ranking on Google (and other search engines). The topic of keywords will be explored, why they are important and impact on search engine result page (SERP) visibility. Strategies will be presented that attendees can immediately implement to advance their own efforts such as creating and optimizing a traffic building blog for the website.
Websites 102: Web Design & SEO Best Practices
December 5, 2019, 1pm – 3pm
Cost is $15 per attendee
Offered by the Small Business Development Center – Los Angeles
The event will be held at the El Camino College Business Training Center, 13430 Hawthorne Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250.
Summary: This session follows up on Websites 101, taking a deeper dive into the website design strategy and explores the importance of website structure and sitemaps. There will be a broad level of discussion on SEO, both on-site and off-site tactics. There will also be discussion around when to hire an outside professional to build a website versus when it makes sense to tackle the project on your own. It’s important to note this is not a hands-on workshop.
Digital Marketing Training for Beginning SEO
December 7th – December 29th

The event will be held at Entirety Technology’s offices located in Los Angeles, CA 90011.
Summary: This four-week training program provides 16 total hours of education across 4 weeks. The comprehensive curriculum covers SEO, search engine marketing, social media optimization, social media marketing and more. Attendees receive training material, handouts and access to various resources that reinforce key learning objectives. In addition, there are practical hands on lab exercises, the opportunity to work with code and scripts and real-life problem-solving scenarios. Although it may be difficult for some to attend due to their schedules, this course appears to be quite comprehensive and worth exploring.
Digital Marketing Training

Summary: This 16-hour course (weekends Sat-Sun in December) features a robust curriculum covering various aspects of the digital marketing ecosystem. Training materials including instructor handouts will be provided and attendees will have the opportunity to review actual code and scripts. They will also have the opportunity to work in real-life scenarios. The goal of the event is to learn digital marketing techniques and tools, reporting metrics, tracking, online customer service best practices, and social media management strategies. This course is recommended for digital marketing, social media, marketing, and website professionals.
Search Engine Optimization Basics

Summary: Learn what SEO is all about from the beginning. Key questions such as what SEO is, how do search engines work and insights about ranking algorithms will be discussed. Time will also be spent exploring how to market a company’s website in various channels such as directories, forums, social media sites, blogs and more. There will be a comprehensive overview of important topics related to digital marketing and SEO.
Getting Started with WordPress

Summary: While not an SEO or digital marketing training, this event made the list because of our love of WordPress. Attendees receive a walkthrough of the basics of getting a site live quickly and discover various free and premium resources that require minimal knowledge of coding. Once a site is live, attendees will learn the basics of maintaining and updating it, including common problems and issues to avoid. Finally, attendees will receive training on plug-ins, widgets and more. This is an ideal class for those who are new to WordPress and looking to learn how to use the CMS.
